Enjoy cocktails, cutting-edge science, and conversation at this popular after-hours series, which takes place on the first Wednesday of every month.

Skin is our largest organ and a crucial part of our lives, whether it’s protecting us from the elements or serving as a medium for self-expression. At May’s SciCafe, biological anthropologist Nina Jablonski will explore skin’s unique cultural history and its crucial role as an adaptation to UV radiation.

Dr. Nina Jablonski is a professor of biological anthropology and head of the anthropology department at Penn State University. She is the author of Skin: A Natural History, a cultural and biological overview of human skin, and has appeared as a guest on The Colbert Report.

Proudly sponsored by Judy and Josh Weston.

This project was supported by the National Center for Research Resources and the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives of the National Institutes of Health through Grant Number R25 OD011093.
