Various species of predators, such as the damselfly, make up the
many insects found in Dominican amber. Damselflies probably bred in the
water that accumulated within bromeliads. Approximately two-and-a-half
inches in length, they are the longest insects to be discovered in amber.
They were unable to free themselves from the resin because their bodies were
so frail.
