A three-dimensional floating image of colliding galaxies is a highlight in the Galaxies Zone. The image, which appears to float in space, is the centerpiece of an area on "Interacting Galaxies" that explores the forces, distortions, and transformations that occur when these titanic swarms of stars and gas collide. The Zone also features video sequences that show the exquisite beauty and diversity of galaxies, as well as a satellite dish and computer interactive that provide information on the formation and evolution of galaxies.
